In November 2022, the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt hosted the 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP27), with a view to building on previous successes and paving the way for future ambition to effectively tackle the global challenge of climate change.

Environmental Markets Fairness Foundation co-organized a panel that led to a reflection on the reality of the regions most vulnerable to the effects of climate change from the perspective of the Global South, with the main goal of fostering transparency and integrity in carbon markets.

This session alongside federal and subnational governments, NGOs and the private sector, managed to put biodiversity, forests and communities that inhabit them, at the centre of the scene, to trigger a meaningful dialogue to promote a new path of transparency and fairness in the future of the carbon market.
